La piel vacía explores the concept of skin as contour, limit and medium, and proposes an aesthetic experience that attracts and distorts the forms of perception of the senses. By means of the performers’ corporeality, the architecture of their bodies, the spatial design, the compositions of images and the rhythm, the piece “reveals” this “something else” that eludes a concrete definition, impregnating our senses and provoking a collective imaginary that flees from the dominion of spoken language. The video dance EMPT, screened at the Chicago Dance Film Festival, Tiny Dance Film Fest (San Francisco) and Dansez Maintenant (France), stems from La piel vacía).
SIBERIA / Paloma Muñoz was born in 2016 with La piel vacía. In 2018, the dancer and choreographer from Extremadura created the solo La jamalara de la tratano, first part of the trilogy Leve, followed in 2021 by L.E.V.E. [A Light and Easy Vanishing Event]. The third and last part, Wild horses couldn’t drag me away, will be premiered in 2022 by the Mercat de les Flors, in charge of the coproduction.
