This piece delves into the sublime String Quartet no. 14 in D minor, ‘Death and The Maiden’, by Franz Schubert. With a contemporary revision of this romantic composition, we travel through primary existential elements: to be alive and to die.
Asun Noales addresses the premature transition from one state to another with an organic body where brittle life persists in its beats, hardly a breath, a faint aura of caress. It burns, like an unforeseen cloud, like a compelling flash of collapse and ashes.
Dancer, choreographer and teacher, Asun Noales has a university degree in Choreography and Performance Techniqes and a diploma in Classic Dance, Spanish Dance and Contemporary Dance. Due to her ample stylistic range, she is an innovative and eclectic creator. Her work forms part of the repertoire of international companies, such as Luna Negra Dance Theater (Chicago) and Take Dance Company (New York). She founded OtraDanza in 2007, and has won, amongst other awards, the 2002 Burgos&New York Intermnational Choreography Awards, and the 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2020 Award for Performng Arts of the Valencian Generalitat for Best Dance Show and Best Direction of Choreography.
