FINALIST FOR BEST CHILDREN AND FAMILY SHOW AND BEST FEMALE CONTEMPORARY DANCE PERFORMER (MARÍA JOSÉ CASADO) AT THE 2023 LORCA AWARDS
“Welcome to this strange land, which is at the same time mine, yours, ours; a no-man's land, built by those who come from far away to shape it with energy and enthusiasm.
To meet up with your mother, search for a job, escape from violence, not starve to death … what makes someone leave their world and travel to the unknown? What are the things that lead us to seek a new life? And what do we find along the way? To leave is to know oneself as well as others. But the journey can also turn into a nightmare, if we falter and flounder, if the place where we arrive turns its back on us, if we do not find help in response to our calls for help.” DA.TE Danza
For 24 years, DA.TE Danza has been creating, producing and performing contemporary dance, dance-theatre and object-theatre for children and young audiences, from early childhood to adolescence. With 27 premieres, it is one of the longest-running dance companies in Andalusia. DA.TE Danza focuses on shows committed to present-day society, telling children, young people and families stories to think about.
