“Today our bodies speak of us, they reveal themselves in the face of orthodox discourses that, on occasions, control us. Today we challenge old readings and invent new narratives. We unlearn in order to recover our capacity to act and reconquer this fertile territory. Today is about telling our own story, with our insecure, fearful and anguished bodies. Bodies that at times are frail and others excessive, that hurt, that fight, that reclaim; that one day even die. Today, at last, we meet, and this encounter will be one of power, possibility, stripped of all artifice, our first act, our first place of encounter.” Cristian Martín
With extensive and heterogeneous training and great versatility, Cristian Martín (Ávila, 1985) is one of performers in Spain with the greatest impact. He is the creator (2018) and director of Proyecto Lanza, with which he has established a widely recognized personal language. In 2021, together with choreographer Daniel Doña, he created in Granada the company La Itinerante to promote the province’s new emerging talent. Since 2023 he is the rehearsal director and assistant choreographer of DDCDanza–Daniel Doña for the flamenco show Shima Spain Village in Japan. He is a member of the Academy of Performing Arts of Spain and Andalusia.
