In the form of a children's tale –dolls that come to life on Christmas Eve and take a little girl through magical adventures–, The Nutcracker speaks of the longing for lost innocence and the clash between adult reality and the dream world of childhood.
In 2017, the prestigious soloist of the Kiev Opera Theatre Viktor Ishchuk created a stable company with Ukraine's most outstanding stars to present the talent, mastery and professionalism of Ukrainian artists to the world.
The Kiev Ballet maintains among its main objectives the preservation of traditions and the essence of the purest classical ballet. Each performance is a feast for the senses due to the sobriety of choreographies, the perfection of its lines, the virtuosity of its soloists, and the magnificence and grandeur of its sets and costumes.
Following the great success of its tours in Spain in 2022 and 2023, the Kiev Ballet will return with a new colourful and moving version of The Nutcracker to bid farewell to the magic and the spirit of Christmas.
