By means of a children’s story –dolls that come to life on Christmas Eve and take a little girl through magic adventures, The Nutcracker  speaks of nostalgia for the lost innocence of childhood and the clash between the reality of adults and the world of dreams of children.
In 1989, Sergei Radchenko founded the Russian National Ballet, which he has directed since that date. During the 25 years he belonged to the Bolshoi Theatre Ballet, he performed all of the great classical ballets with the mythical Maya Plisetskaya. His intense choreographic and teaching work are noteworthy. Since 1976 he is People’s Artist of the USSR.
The Russian National Ballet, with more than fifty dancers and a repertoire that includes original choreographies of Marius Petipa,  and new productions of classic and contemporary pieces, is the most important private Russian ballet and one that continues to contribute to and enhance the legend of traditional Russian classical ballet.
