Juanfra Carrasco flamenco singer
Nono Reyes flamenco guitar

1.00 h (w/out intermission)

A classical and intimate recital by one of the present-day rising stars. Juanfra has burst onto the flamenco scene as one of the most personal voices at present, and stands out with the rhythmic styles with which he achieves authentic wonders.
Juanfra Carrasco (Santa Amalia, Badajoz, 1994) is a flamenco singer and composer considered the new link of a manner of singing that recreates the profound essence of his homeland. His knowledge and unconventional expressive capacity have been acknowledged with some of the most important prizes in flamenco, such as the Premio de la Diputación de Badajoz, Premio Mancomunidad de Sevilla, the prestigious Premio Joven de Antonio Mairena, Premio de Carmona, Premio de Valdemoro and a second prize in Sol de Plata de Lorca competition. He is one of the few young flamenco singer pupils of the Triana school of masters, such as Luis Peña, Guillermo Manzano, Antonio ‘el Marsellés’ and El Perla.
Antonio ‘Nono’ Reyes Montoya (Chiclana de la Frontera, 1975) is the son of the singer from Chiclana Antonio Reyes, and thus a relative of José Cortés Jiménez 'Pansequito'. He was only 7 years old when he performed on stage for the first time. In 1988, at the age of 13, he was finalist in the Competition of Mairena del Alcor, and travelled to the United States with the Compañía Gitanos de Jerez, directed by Manuel Morao, and then throughout Europe with the show Misa flamenca. Starting in the year 2000 his career as a professional singer was consolidated after winning the Memorial Camarón de la Isla and the Concurso Nacional de Arte Flamenco awards. In 2014 he won the Giraldillo al Cante award at the Flamenco Biennial of Seville, "for incorporating his personality to the legacy of the great maestros", as highlighted by the jury.
