Sandra and David are one of the most important couples of present-day flamenco. This concert will be a journey through some of the best known cantes [flamenco singing] and other less common ones, including trillas, serranas, verdiales, granaínas, soleás, alegrías, fandangos of Huelva, bulerías and seguirillas.
Sandra Carrasco (Huelva, 1981) is a flamenco singer who has stood out since she was quite young due to her mastery of the fandangos of Huelva.. She has toured accompanying Arcángel, Manolo Sanlúcar, Miguel Poveda and Estrella Morente. Her first album, Sandra Carrasco (2011), was produced by Javier Limón with the collaboration of other artists, including Pepe Habichuela, Josemi Carmona and Avishai Cohen, with whom she sang at the Olimpia in París. Her second album, Océano (2014), comprises a classic Latin American repertoire, in which she is accompanied by Chuchito Valdés, Javier Colina and Jerry González. Her following albums were Travesía (2015), considered one of the best 100 records of Spain. La luz del entendimiento (2020) and Recordando a Marchena (2024), in which she performs with the guitar player David de Arahal.
In the course of her career she has had many different collaborators, including Richard Bona, María Pelae, Carlos Saura, José Luis Montón, Eva Yerbabuena.and the National Ballet of Spain.
David de Arahal (Sevilla, 2000). Is a guitar player and composer who learned from masters such as Manolo Sanlúcar, Víctor Monge Serranito and Rafael Riqueni. He has worked, and continues to work, with figures that include Pepe de Lucía, Lole Montoya, Miguel Poveda, Estrella Morente, Israel Fernández and Antonio Canales, who was inspired by the guitarist’s first musical creation to choreograph his last show. In 2020, he released Mar verde, his first album as soloist with the collaboration of artists such as Miguel Poveda, Antonio Canales, Israel Fernández and Sandra Carrasco. His second album, Callejón del arte, was released in 2024.
