According to her record label, in her seventh studio album Argentina "takes you on a musical journey full of passion and longing, in which flamenco rhythms, Cuban sounds, salsa and boleros converge in perfect harmony.” From the very first chord she immerses you in the enchantment and magic of Habana: “I want the audience to feel what my time in this city, one of the musical capitals of the world, has meant for me.”
This new project began in 2019 with an improvised recording in which Argentina sang with the group Evolución at the La Vitrola restaurant in Old Havana.
The video was published on social media where it quickly obtained millions of reproductions and hundreds of thousands of comments. Mi idilio con La Habana is the result of this spontaneous and viral phenomena.
The singer from Huelva is one of the most powerful and acclaimed voices of present-day flamenco, with several nominations to the Latin Grammys. This is the first time she dives into the world of Latin music, together with her lifelong flamenco. Her versatility, the colour of her voice and her chameleonic capacity to adapt to and embrace all types of musical genres have converted her, according to critics and spectators alike, "into a unique artist for the world”.
Pancho Céspedes has highlighted that "Argentina has the perfume of the great singers, such as Camarón and Paco de Lucía. She is great, and singing with her makes me great."
