“I have always been intrigued by the possibilitythat someone could transform a conference into a confession. To what extent do we control what we say? Like an actor, the speaker can forget his speech or give in to the temptation of revealing something awkward or devastating.”
“A speaker comes out on stage… and flies off the handle. Experiences, memories and love affairs mix or choke in his story which is transformed into a confession, with quotes collected over a lifetime, literary downpours of high fantasy. Poets use rain to liberate the world. Perhaps it exorcises their ghosts. He is interested in the rain imagined by poets, the triumph of mind over the imbecility of reality. In a world in which metaphors lose value, Dante, Goethe, Pessoa, Neruda, Cortázar, Diego, Vallejo, Mallarmé... have something to say. Some poets have succeeded in messing up the sky...
