Who is Lear? A King prone to anger, a buffoon, an irascible old man who likes to stand nude in storms, the main character of a tragedy of Shakespeare? Lear is all these things and the father of three daughters to whom he decides to bequeath his power and his government, in exchange for their love. However, he will have to face the evidence that feelings that are expressed do not always coincide with those that are felt. And it is not easy to admit that someone can love us differently from what we expect; above all when the blind are led by the insane.
Antonio Zafra is an actor, stage director, playwright, puppeteer, clown, monologuist… his most noteworthy work has been, in film, El camino de los ingleses, directed by Antonio Banderas; in theatre, A la luz de Góngora, directed by Kitty Manver, three years as puppeteer in the Angel Calvente’s company El Espejo Negro and stage director of El hijo pródigo by Pablo Bujalance.
