Tangoria presents the most poetic aspect of Astor Piazzolla’s music, with careful adaptations, maintaining the fundamental voices and character so as not to lose the essence of such important music in the history of tango. With the musical trio, the voice of Andrés Martorell and the choreographies of Jupa Arias and Esther Medina. ‘Vuelvo al sur’ offers a personal vision of some of these tangos, in which their powerful energy and depth prevail, together with a new perspective of ‘rioplatense tango’.

Once again, this year Teatro Echegaray has programmed two days devoted to tango, an event it has held with great success since 2015, bringing together different styles of instrumental tango, tango dancing and tango singing that represent the genre’s history.
The International Tango Festivals that began in 1989 have proven to be essential to promote and celebrate tango in Spain. Winner of the largest number of awards, the Festival of Granada is the oldest and ranks second worldwide in prominence after the Festival of Montevideo. With more than 100 editions to date, the Festivals have also been held in Chiclana de la Frontera, Torrejón de Ardoz, Sagunto and Malaga.
